Tacurong City strengthened its push for efficient and community-centered employment services as the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) recognized outstanding barangays during the Awarding Ceremony of the Second Barangay PESO Congress held on November 19, 2025, at Molave Events Place, Barangay Kalandagan, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat.
Before the awards were conferred, PESO Tacurong conducted a thorough evaluation using established criteria to assess the performance, documentation, and service delivery of all barangay PESO units. The results reflected the sustained effort of barangay coordinators in bringing employment facilitation closer to their constituents.
Leading this yearโs recognitions, Ms. Mary Ann V. Azarcon of Barangay Virginia Griรฑo once again emerged as Rank 1 Best-Performing Barangay PESO Coordinator, retaining the same title she earned during last yearโs Barangay PESO Congress. She was followed by Mr. Ivan C. Ostaga of Barangay San Rafael (Rank 2), Mr. Aeron C. Tictic of Barangay Buenaflor (Rank 3), Ms. Ellyn C. Casipe of Barangay Baras (Rank 4), and Mr. Henry P. Bartal of Barangay Upper Katungal (Rank 5).
Barangays were also recognized for their effective monitoring of DOLE-assisted livelihood projects. In Category A, Barangay Virginia Griรฑo achieved a complete 20 out of 20 monitored beneficiaries, while Barangay Buenaflor recorded 15 out of 15. In Category B, Barangay Calean completed all 7 monitored beneficiaries, and San Rafael ensured 5 out of 5. For Category C, San Antonio, New Lagao, and Rajah Muda each delivered a full 2 out of 2 monitored beneficiaries.
PESO Tacurong likewise awarded barangays that excelled in workforce documentation. Barangay San Pablo led the Most Number of Registered Kasambahay, followed by Barangay EJC Montilla, Barangay Virginia Griรฑo, and Barangay San Antonio. For First-Time Jobseekers Registration, Barangay San Pablo again ranked first, with Barangay Poblacion, Barangay Virginia Griรฑo, and Barangay New Isabela also recognized.
Barangay Virginia Griรฑo received two additional distinctions: Most Number of Organized/Registered Workers and Most Active Bulletin Board, reflecting its consistent visibility, compliance, and strong engagement with PESO programs.
The awarding ceremony underscored the vital role of barangay PESO coordinators in bridging employment services to the grassroots. PESO Manager Allan S. Freno expressed appreciation for their dedication and reaffirmed PESO Tacurongโs commitment to strengthening partnerships that expand employment and livelihood opportunities for Tacurongnons.
